Description of COBI-4815 U.S. ENTERPRISE CV-6 KIT AIRCRAFT "BIG E"
Now you can build the most famous WW2 aircraft carrier, the USS Enterprise, here in a lavish and highly authentic building model from Cobi referred to as the "Big E", was the sixth aircraft carrier in the United States Navy and the seventh ship in the fleet to bear that name.
She was launched in 1936 as one of the ships of the Yorktown class and is one of only three US aircraft carriers in pre-World War II service to survive the war (the others being Saratoga and Ranger). She participated in more major battles in the war against Japan than any other American ship. These battles include the Battle of Midway, the Battle of the Eastern Solomon Islands, the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands, several other air-sea battles during the Battle of the Philippine Sea and the Battle of Leyte Gulf, as well as the "Doolittle Raid" on Tokyo. On three separate occasions during the Pacific War the Japanese announced that she had been sunk in action. Enterprise received a total of 20 battle stars, the most of any US warship during World War II. Some have labeled her the most glorified and revered ship in the history of the US Navy, rivaled perhaps only by the 18th century frigate USS Constitution.
Enterprise is built in the same way as, for example, Lego and is assembled without glue.
